Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang Starring Marian Rivera as Marian…er Proserfina

After much post-Marimar hype, it’s finally premiered last week at a rather slow pace. Homer’s (Dingdong Dantes), a really hunky dork executive. He’s engaged to a two-timing but equally rich bitch (Angelu De Leon), plays the sax, and solves jigsaw puzzles. One morning, he wakes up with a Marian Rivera in his bed. Apparently, the suspected whore just went past his exclusive village’s and mansion’s security, climbed to his room’s balcony with a ladder out of nowhere, then slept by his side til morning.

But who’s Marian? It’s still being slowly revealed, but so far this is what we know–she slipped into Dingdong’s room in a sultry black dress, she’s foul-mouthed as a hardcore slum harlot (unlike Slumdog’s Latika), she likes fried chicken, and she’s named Proserfina (WTF) Valdez. So what is she? In a sense, she’s Homer’s schizo fantasy, the wild woman dwelling in his dark unconscious murked up by the complications of wealth and compromising romantic relationship, the missing rib in the Creation of Man puzzle he’s solving.

She is the erotic, the incontrollable, pure desire. When she felt like it, she just jumped off the pool. She prefers the motorcycle over the luxury sedan, and she craves for speed. “Nandito ako dahil nag-eenjoy ako. Yun lang ang kailangan mong malaman.” she says. And Homer finds himself following all her wild whims. “Hindi ako ganito. Nang makilala kita, nawalan ako ng kontrol, parang akong patay na nabuhay.” and that marked the Pinoy premiere. So what is this about–woman as derivative? Prolly just wonder on the appearance of the other (while reciting that realization). There’s some class issue emerging recently, and Proserfina’s obviously real, so the unconscious part’s actually wrong, but you can watch it online HERE.
